    Newsletter — October 2025
To Members and Guests of Ballroom Dance Dallas--
Thanks to the 176 members and guests who attended the celebration of our 30th anniversary. It meant so much to have each of you there, and it was an honor to welcome three charter members who were original members of Ballroom Dance Dallas that many years ago. Thanks to Marty Gross, Trudy Evans, and Bob Evans for attending along with past presidents Trudy Evans, Warren Slaughter, and Tommy Quon. It was also inspiring to recognize our Platinum Lifetime Sponsors and our Annual Sponsors.
Aimée Meńdez did an awesome lesson on Rumba and arranged and produced the showcase featuring Daniel Thomas, Betsy Lee, Tom Sowell, Aimee Mendez, Richard Newhouse, Allison Hart, Justo Saavedra, and Elizabeth Saavedra. Special thanks to Dave Tanner and his band for always providing the wonderful dance music aligned to our theme. He spends hours developing a playlist that supports our theme of the evening.
In October we will have our Harvest Ball and feature The Doc Gibbs Band. Lisa and Israel will teach a lesson on the beautiful Viennese Waltz, and we are looking forward to a large crowd. The Nominating Committee will also announce a slate of officers. Also, please keep in mind that in November, we will begin our membership drive. You can join for 2026 and receive 14 months of membership or sponsorship for the price of 12.
Vicki Baum said, “There are shortcuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them.” So, be sure to mark your calendar for October 18 and plan to attend our Harvest Ball for an evening of happiness.
